Actually if I didnt know the doctor is a "crazy doctor", i would've thought he's a nice doctor. Especially the way you described the doctor like "wrinkly old" kinda gave away what we could expect from the doctor: twisted and disgusting. I havent read the novel, that's what I got from your "not a spoiler" comment.
