It’s not necessarily turning it into a webtoon, it’s just been reformatted for hosting on L*zhin. Plus, that site has a wider audience reach than a lot of mangakas, especially bl authors that aren’t being published in a magazine, can get on their own.

It's all over the place. Having the normal Japanese format is what other people like and having it in a webtoon way is what some other people like. What if the viewers and the mangaka doesn't want it to be in a webtoon format?
Why turn a manga into webtoon..? Disrespectful to the mangaka.
