Technically, I think, it should be because she didn't know that she had powers before so she was able to live life normally in the village, however after the priests showed her how to use her powers she couldn't control it so it would fire randomly at what's she's looking at.

I guess a good metaphor for this would be if you had a bike that you never riden before. Like you have it in your house because it use to belong to your older sibling or something, but you may not have known that your family had a bike since your older siblings stopped using it and it been sitting in the corner of your basement or something.
And one day your parents took it out for you to try riding. They held your bike until you could balance while riding it and let go. However they never taught you how to stop so you just kept on biking nonstop to where ever your bike could continue going

So like that bike, our MC learned about magic and how to use it but she does not know how to stop so she just keep destroying things uncontrollably just as how we are riding our bike uncontrollably since we don't know how to break. However, just like the MC, we were able to live our life normally before the time our parents took out the bike from the basement and we started biking on a rampage everywhere.
