Ignorants...

Why would people said Meyrin isn't important? Excuse me, she's the maid of Phantomhive, okay?
It's not like I'm her fan either. But as the other side characters who got their back stories... Like Elizabeth, Finny, the aunt and also that Indian butler... Meyrin also deserve hers.
You guys are just being greedy and impatient for the next chapter, and when it didn't came out the way you wanted it to be... You put the blame on Meyrin's character and on the author, saying that they're milking the story for too long.
Just be grateful that you could already read the translated version for free. Don't blame the author for the chapter isn't like what you imagined.
The plotline is the author's world, you readers have no right to interrupt whatsoever and demand the story to be as what you wanted.

but we do have the right to say what we think. Aside from being cute, explain to me what's so important about Mei Rin's house cleaning job. She's of the lowest social rank, incapable of having much effect on the story the way it's presently unfolding. She's a token, and she's in the story due to S and C's stated philosophy of "keep your enemies close." If she'd almost succeeded to Martin Luther King Jr's head when he was only 13, you might have, hopefully, a lot more perspective on her ass.

I hate people like Mei Rin who break everything they touch in a mansion full of priceless artifacts. It's cute the way she lusts after Sebastian, but hardly a reason to call her important, and who in history is that far-sighted? Stop talking so loud, Mei Rin, get some new glasses, idiot, and stop being so destructive.

You done being salty? You're just hating on a character who didn't suits your preference. Like I said, I'm not her fan either as I'm more into elegant characters like Sebastian and Elizabeth. But to be hating on another minor character just because you couldn't get your fill on the chapter update is just baseless and might I say, childish.
So stop your yapping and accept it as it is, even if when the upcoming update were still not able to satisfy your fantasy.

Now I'll explain to you, the thing about Meyrin's ability on house cleaning job...
It is absolutely far from decent, everyone can see that.
she's so far-sighted, that she's literally blind to anything in front of her face. And Sebastian knew that since the very beginning, but he still took her in.
You know why? Because being a maid is not the main reason why he wanted her into the pack. He took her in as a sniper to protect the master. House cleaning and being a maid is just something to cover up her identity.

You see, Though it's just purely based on a contract, Sebastian is just so hell-bent on making a great butler.
That first time where Sebastian fix the burned down mansion in just split of a second. Ciel then ordered him to sort things normally onwards, as a demon ability is something that humans would be suspicious of.
A huge ass mansion without no servants would be suspicious, wouldn't it?
That's why both of them trying to complete a full working system in the house as they first gained a gardener, Finny. A cook, Bard. A maid, Meyrin. And a footman, Snake.
Even if you look at those, characters. None of them actually did their task perfectly.
    Breaking priceless artifacts while cleaning??
Pfttt, mind you, Finny scalded the whole garden with a single tree. Bard blows up the whole kitchen all the time. And snake? Don't even start with him...
What made you think they would act normal like any other ordinary servants to begin with
It is to make it contradict to the perfect and spotless character of Sebastian. To show how perfect of a butler Sebastian is.
Or it might be the author trying to imply that it was some kind of a way for Phantomhive tricking the intruders/enemies into underestimating them as just an ordinary household servants, which was proven to be effective as what happened in the Circus Arc.
These servants (except for Snake) have always been there next to Ciel since the very first chapter. Other than that, I don't know what else to make you think they're all important characters to the story.
Sure readers have their right to say what they think. Just don't be a jackass and demand impossible things from the author, because that's rude.
The author already planned well the plotline, they don't have time to cater to your needs.
Just because you're a fellow readers, please don't feel entitled that you can demand the story to be how you wanted it to be.

thank you, yneorin, for the book report. I might point out to you that her value and importance is more about her loyalty and trustworthiness than anything else, but why should I bolster up your argument for you? LOL
you're right about one thing. i think the cliffhanging should only go so far. it's a shitty trick to pull when an author has created as high a tension as yt has here in a series that will go on so far into the future b4 any resolution
