I’m feeling more confident about my theory, now. That the prince was sent back in time AFTER he committed or planned to commit the evil shit. So now he’s probably trying to undo everything that the past him already committed. He’s like the main character of a “reverse time villainess” manhwa or manga. We’re just seeing the point of view of a side character that doesn’t know anything.
