<spoiler>sort of happens as you say in a way for most of wazu's love interests, its actually stupidly hilarious, not to mention the harem does reach wazu at one point but he thinks that they are just there to reject him and stuff, it essentialy plays into his character development to be honest, there's one love interest that I really like among them though, she's assertive and blunt </spoiler>

TLDR cuz there are like 3 arcs or something
Wazu gains and charms more girls (one or two per arc) kuz as stated in some comments he thinks he got rejected, and one way or another he thinks that those girls her was aiming for reject him or outright hate him due to their insecurities, one even outright hates him but realizes she into him deep. For the goddess her aim was initially to turn him into a god like her by guiding wazu to do hax shit kuz she appreciates his will to change and become a better version of himself(hence the purity thing on his status. The purity thing on his status is the remenant of him being human right now his status was 88% human or smth) Unbenownst to wazu several gods are watching him because they were betting on wazu to stop the demoninzing shit which has something to do with the major antagonist(the major antagonist is a fallen god, which is responsible for giving people those orb things to free him from his seal.
He also meets some bro characters which was refreshing their purpose was mainly to help wazu develop from a boy to man or smth. This one guy has a shit ton of wives and teaches wazu to own up and face his past and rejections.
For mear if i remember correctly she was the first in his harem after the rest of his love interests confessed and asked to get married with him, this actually lead to him to almost run away with mear kuz by this time, but with the help of the goddess decides to accept them since he knows whats it like to get rejected and he could not bear to reject them now since he knows that they travelled a long ways to catch up with him, also he sort of feels responsible for them falling in love with him since he did try and persue these girls.
As for the saint aria, she rejects wazu but he was willing to leave it at that but the hero challeneged him to fight, but this time his purity was like in the lower 20% or something and beats the shit out of the hero.
After this mess they beat the fallen god, with the help of one of his bros who was actually the creator god the whole time(this is no ass pull since this has been hinted a bunch of times in the story)
Then he got married with all of them then end.
I'll admit the ending is sort of shitty but the story was good
DON'T TELL ME, the girls who fall in love with him will start looking for him when they sepearte and all the harem will meet and go on a journey to find wazu, and at the end he is going to meet his ex again and the harem is going to appear like "WE HAVE BEEN LOOKING FOR YOU"
