Then maybe you should look into it FURTHER. I believe if she was caught up in a scandal bc of drug use it’s perfectly acceptable she’s not popular anymore. If anything I don’t understand why people in America don’t think twice about it. Korea literally has one of the lowest drug usage at below 1%. It’s a really bad behavior to be projecting onto kids who are often the supporters of idols and actors.

I mean Korea does not give a crap about how other countries view marijuana. What’s bad for you is bad for you

Idk why but my the rest of my response isn't going through. After the 'Uh I know' i said that it's ironic how they're calling her a 'druggie' when alcohol & cigs are ingrained & part of their culture. More so alcohol. Where its common enough to do it in public. And yes I consider Alcohol & Cigarettes Drugs. I know that weed is illegal in Korea which is fcking dumb. Its more taboo than more serious drugs out there. Please don't tell me that I should look further into it because I already have. Its just weed, it relaxes your body that's all it does just like a cig. Even just getting CBD oil in Korea is hard. I know ppl who've recommended it to friends in korea, but they don't have a serious enough medical issue to be prescibed it! That's why I get so pissed at knetz, korean netizens, ppl who live on the Internet who's sole purpose is to be angry at something.
And IDC if kpop idols or actors use weed, drink, or smoke - it's their life. You shouldn't put the burden on them to be a role model to kids, to your kids. Especially when those celebrities are well over age they can do whatever they want to their body. Will they be judged for that? Of course, but it shouldn't cost them their jobs/careers!

It’s not that marijuana is “more” taboo Korea just considers it to be just as bad as hard drugs. Also, you might want to consider that the fact Korea judges all drugs equally is the reason why people tend to not start drugs in the first place. In America, kids somehow think that doing marijuana is fine because it’s not a hard drug when it CAN be just as life-affecting and addictive as other types of drugs. I’m sure Korea can’t get rid of Cigs+Alcohol bc of power control between the companies that make it. Korea just expects to keep as many bad influences out as possible before it starts becoming more and more of a problem. And as you said it’s not a popular person’s “responsibility” to be a role model to kids. That’s why people turn their backs on their career. It’s so that they themselves can make them into not-role-models for kids. That way the kids will know not to do it since they see how society will treat them if they are caught doing it.

Yes I've seen these articles before. Honestly I just gotta laugh tho. One of the reasons why South Korea banned weed in the first place is because of America's influence. During the 70s-80s marijuana was seen as a gate way drug (evil evil) while hippies during that time fought against that. But look where America is now? It's slowly letting it be legalized. Medical marijuana is now more accessible too. But what I'm still upset about is that I can't bring medical marijuana over to SKorea to visit family. It just ain't right because you can't buy it there, you can't use it there. If u don't have a strong enough claim to use it (ie your life depends on it, that sorta thing) then you can't have it at all.

Seeing that you have a valid reason to use marijuana, I can see why you might be upset about Korea being anti-marijuana, but it doesn’t change the fact there will be alternatives to using medical marijuana as well. Korea is doing fine without medical marijuana and getting other drugs to use instead. And like you just pointed out, marijuana is becoming legalized because of its popular use. Korea is trying to prevent that from happening in the first place - make it hard for people to do it so they can stop it BEFORE it becomes more of a problem and people are shoving it into the government to legalize it. If America also tried to stop the spread of marijuana during those times, people wouldn’t be pushing the government to legalize it.

Also, not trying to make your problem of not being able to meet your family as trivial, but it’s not only you who couldn’t meet your family in Korea. I couldn’t go meet them since I was 7 until I was 16 due to money issues and my older brother hasn’t met them since he was 15 because he has dual citizenship and can’t go because of the military. If you really want to see them, convince them to come to you or find an alternative to marijuana so you can go. It’s hard not being able to see your family but there’s always a way.

I gotta agree with you there, Korea does see all drugs as equally bad. Like I've seen ppl compare marijuana to meth even heroin & coke. When I see that I scream lol. (And don't even get me started on bottled pills). I also gotta agree that you can become addicted to marijuana, but I see this as you can always get addicted to anything if you're not careful enough. If you're going to get addicted, youre going to get addicted you know? Ppl get addicted to the high for release, So I see it as another version of a cig.
Honestly, in the day & age I'm also seeing more younger korean people getting more open about weed. That it's a drug that gets you high, where it has the same consequences as smoking a cig. Even alcohol. But there are differences in opinions everywhere.

I just wanna clarify that I'm not promoting 'DO DRUGS' no no. What I support is the use of medical marijuana and the freedom to use it. Where you don't need to be locked up/arrested for it. Or have your career fall because you took one puff.

Thank you for your kind words!! I hope in the future you can visit your family there again. It's hard sometimes.
The reason why I couldn't go was because I use cbd oil to help me go to sleep, I got mild scoliosis & the pain is more unbearable when I lay down. I've tried other remedies, but the oil helps best!
But everything's good tho cause my family over there visits us. I gotta say tho, compared to other eastern & south eastern asian countries SKorea seems more kinder in punishment
Honestly tho I can't get over how she lost her job cause of marijuana. Knetizens are the worst when it comes to this topic. Before they're praising her & then immediately call her a druggie. Its just weed calm tf down, yall probably need it in your life too by how erratic you are.
And yall probs already smoked a cig & chugged alcohol so you ain't any different
