Sadly yes. They have contracts and fans get REALLY harsh sometimes, especially if you’re a female idol.

Yeah, kpop is even worse in that aspect. At least some jpop idols do get married in their youths.
Korea, Japan, and China idols have this kind of mindset. Not all but almost. Even Wang Yibo said this, 'do I even allowed to dating'? when a host asked him something about dating stuff. Σ( ￣□￣||)
Isn't that d reason why some agencies Don't allow their idols to date and if they date, their lover gets bullied to no end!
I wouldn't say that kpop is worse. At least from what I've seen these days kpop are a little bit more "open"; I mean, what with Chen or Hyuna and Dawn. It's just that, at least it didn't get to a point where you have to shaved your head and apologized publicly like you just commit a terrible crime for having a romantic relationship (〜￣△￣)〜
Waw, what a sounds wrong because with mindset like that; idol cannot breath, travel, have a fun outside, dating, or being a human that have weakness. They should perfect in front everyonem
Actually I think some agencies put that rule to protect their idols too. Back then like wayyy back then, a korean idol was killed by his psychopath girlfriend. We cant deny there are many psychopath who wants to be tgt with the idols

Damn, what a toxic mindset. I'm not familiar with current jpop idol scene, but is it THAT severe? Does jpop idol industry still believe that idols shouldn't have romantic relationship with anybody, that they're belong to their fans?
