That I know that we don't have a male word for mistress in the English language but mansteess is just making me laugh so hard.

    Catamite, gigolo, paramour, consort, lover, are just a few examples I remember involving males in a "mistress"-like position. Though that first one is usually an insult when said to grown men.

    Yeah so it's not exactly the same connotation. I guess consort would be the closest in respect and meaning but it also means that they are married and she has a higher position of political power in that case. As much as he calls her the cute pet name if wife, they are not married. He also would not be restricted in political power if he married her.
