I completely agree, that teacher is shit and deserves no mercy. But I think the point of this chapter was to show the state of this parallel world, and a bit of the politics. Not that it justifies anything that happened.
I dunno just my thoughts, take it how you like.
This chapter was written poorly. The only people that advocate using abuse to teach children are teachers that don't have the skill.
