My only way is, if they're in school ( the scenes shown) it's a flashback but if it's almost about the Cafe or sort of its in the present but yeah it will kinda confusing anyway if you read it not straight from chapter 1 to recent
Black background is from the past memories. White Backgroud is the present.
It makes me feel like my own memory is off, like i forgetting parts of the story but the story feels out of order in some parts, the flashback are in the past already but they are also not shown in chronological order, so then i cant tell when certain characters were feeling a certain way and why they were. like i said, i get the general timeline, but the details are fuzzy
