Exactly, few people understand how this type of thing can lead to severe emotional scaring and long-lasting issues. BDSM can be such a fun and self-learning experience, but when done incorrectly, like shown in this manhwa, it can be very dangerous.

I’m a switch, which means I have experience in both being a sub and being a Dom. And I gotta say I do not like this manhwa at all. I’ve had experience with many bad Doms, and the girl is clearly one of them. She’s manipulative (like ignoring the guy when he doesn’t do what she tells him to), has no concept of consent (being intoxicated means the person can’t give consent, and the guy clearly said no many times and is very unsure about everything they do), and treats the guys with no respect at all. Especially when she says “you have to do whatever I say”, she sounded exactly like one of those bad Doms I used to play with and let me tell you, experiences with bad Doms is very emotionally tormenting, they bring you down instead of lifting you up, and leaves you with a lot of issues afterwards.
Speaking as a Dom, the most important thing for me is to know that my sub feels safe, and is having fun. I always check in with my sub and if he/she shows any sign of uncertainty about what I want to do next, I stop. I always discuss with my subs what we, that is BOTH OF US, want to do, not just tell my sub to do whatever I say. I would never just suddenly stick my finger in my sub or use electric shock on them without discussing it before hand. It’s only fun for me if I know my sub is having fun too. Why is this important? Because I respect my subs. I don’t see them as lesser just because they’re bottoming, I see them as equals, we’re just two people trying to have an amazing experience together.
While I know this manhwa is just a “fantasy”, but I feel it really gives a bad rep to the bdsm community, and there are definitely gonna be people new to the kink scene who are gonna read this and thinks this is how a healthy bdsm relationship is supposed to be, when it’s not.
