You sure wouldn't want some nasty rumors like- you broke two lovers apart and got on with the dude, or you forced a poor victim of love to retaliate harshly against you to protect her love, do you? Same for Adelaide. She loves Elias but she doesn't want her family and herself to suffer from negative rumors
Maybe I need to reread it to understand other peoples POV. But from what I’m getting, she wants her love to be proven to the public (to put an end to those nasty rumors), and she’s being WAY too extra with it. For me, I don’t need anyone else to validate my relationship, so I don’t care about nasty rumors.
