Well I don’t know if you still care about the spoiler, but here I go:
They were both in another world; in an in-between state between life and death (if I remember correctly, she too was in a coma). They had a whole love story out there. I read the raws so I can’t tell you this isn’t 100% accurate, but my understanding is this: only one of them could wake and that one was him, but he switched places w her and she awoke instead and she forgot about it once when woke up from her coma. She’ll start returning his feelings while he’s still a ghost but then He’ll also wake up from the coma later and will have forgotten all about her. But his sister will keep her around as his secretary and eventually feelings will grow, etc. bunch of other things happen with other characters of course, but the main couple are together now in the raw anyway. Both alive and kicking.
