To be honest I personally love how it's a lot more realistic ... In sports you will always have those players who just seem good at everything and players who get overpowered by pressure , I do agree with Furuya being coddled at the beginning (him being a Prodigy and the teams ace ) but now everyones starting to see sawamuras worth as an ace and they are starting to trust him more . Remember that even when furuya was in a bad shape they let him pitch . The same way sawamura was also allowed to play in the next game even when they had other great pitchers .
And I think that sawamura going through all these frustrating moments makes it even more amazing to see him grow and it's gives us a sense of accomplishment and happiness when we see him succeeded.

Does the team views Sawamura as a cleaner? It’s like Furuya is the ace, then when he messes up, they’ll put Sawamura in to clean up his shits. I know Sensei’s biased against our Eijun, but hey, we waited for 500+ chapters to see Sawamura wear the ace number, stop making him looks so bad all the time and giving Furuya all the spotlight even now that he’s the ace. （￣へ￣）
