They mentioned in one of the chapters that the yellow dragon was missing the stone/pearl/ball thing that would allow him to live forever. But for some reason he was missing it; maybe he gave it to one of the emperors earlier lives

The animal spirits had to destroy his pearl when he was a black snake
The pearl is more like an extra energy source for YD. He had a pearl b4 but the animal spirits destroyed it during one of his rage episodes so he was using his finite reserves to turn back time for all dem Dojins. YD is currently dying/ fading into nonexistence.....blue dragon lampshaded it BUT if he gets a new pearl, he will be healed. I just want to know how old Dojin got that, made that or whatever. I wonder if the other 26 Dojins met with the old guy and gave him a portion of their life force and they all created the new pearl. That would be so perfect stprywise, for me. It will probably be an unexplained plot hole though. Sigh.
