It's really not that simple. Most of us communicate through discord, and the other scan group seems to be very adamant on picking this project up, even though my group has already stated we'd be picking it up.

Could you tell me what is the problem with this webtoon specifically?

Member of the original scanlation team: here:

One chapter takes more than 10 hours to complete. 5+h of cleaning, 3+h of typesetting, around 3h for translation and proofreading, and about an hour of quality checking and applying the changes. It's very time-consuming and exhausting.

There are many reasons why groups don't collab. A difference in opinions, ways of doing things, etc.. It's nowhere as simple as you may think. Miscommunication and lack of communication tend to be frequent issues, too.

Basically like Xeno said, my group would actually love to continue, and we actually enjoy the challenge, and personally for me, this is a good opportunity to get better with my korean (even though I’m effectively fluent). We don’t know why, even though we’ve offered to take on the hard work, the other group just doesn’t want to let us have this. Because besides this, we only really have two more projects we’re working on, and we’re pretty new and small. So all these bigger groups believe they get the say on what we get to work on, even if we can make something that’s of better quality, and on a more regular schedule. On the chance that this new group decide to drop it, or are using it for recruiting purposes, we’ll be here to pick it right up.

I hope people take things easy and just have fun with what they do :(
