I kind of really like the MC's mom. I feel like she is very upfront about what she wants and cares about her daughter a bit. If she didn't care about her daughter at all, she wouldn't have brought her to the house and probably would have abandoned her. With the carriage deal too, she was pissed and got to the bottom of it. I feel like the mother puts herself first, her daughter and then everybody else and I like it cause she is upfront with her daughter about it ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭

    It actually depends.

I don't know if I'm just imagining things but their personalities from the novel is really different to their personalities here.

    The relationship dynamics, too

I agree. Although she cares about herself the most (and that is also understandable considering how desperately she had to try to survive back them) , she is still a decent human being. She still loves her daughter and doesn't want to abandon her. Sure she might not help her when it will put her position in risk (both in previous and current lives) , but she will still be heartbroken about it.

I agree too! I've always been reading those manhwa where the mothers are either totally bad or totally good. it's kinda nice to see the mother here having a somewhat tough exterior? but also cares about the daughter tho not excessive.

I also agree. She’s not the best mother, but she did her best for Aria, given her status as ex-prostitute. By bringing Aria together with her to Roscent residence, she ensures Aria’s basic needs and give her chance. The Countess may not give Aria mother’s love, and I like that Aria still understand her position and grateful for all she did.

Fortunately, Aria got unconditional love from Sarah, and soon Asher, and also later far in the future from her grandmother.

Aria's mom does love her, but she had to look at the bigger picture which was to kiss up to the stepfather so that they does go back to the street. Everytime something involves with Aria's safety she always on Aria's side with good argument. And she only acts like she doesn't care as much is when the stepfather is around, because she doesn't want her or her daughter to suffer from poverty again.

Basically, she a survival mom with good control of her emotions. She always on Aria's side no matter what.

Her mother was miserable when they attempted to poison Aria thinking it almost killed her. Even in the incidents after that, she was always worried about Aria. I still can't get the image out of my mind, how much she cried throughout the whole Aria vs Mielle incidents. I am so happy that when the Count was in 'that state' , she decided to finally let go of him since she had Aria to protect her. (≧∀≦)
