I think the original “story” (or game, I forget) is affecting his thinking so that the storyline doesn’t change. So like, he knows she’s innocent so the story is making him loose good memories of her and think that she’s evil. Or something. (That’s why his eyes glazed over in chapter 4.2? Maybe.)

My theory is that he's been subjected to hypnotism and isn't aware someone is manipulating him. I just don't see the point in outting his sister when she's not really in line for the throne? And is it really bad of me to think the person doing the hypnosis is Syl??

Interesting thought. Sly seems innocent, but we’ve seen more innocent characters turn out to be complete bastards so we shall see. (Well, we might if this ever gets updated)

In the original story though, the sister was an ally that offered her child for them to raise. I think it was to do with their God.
It was mentioned that a king was ordered to kill his sister, the then queen, from the Sun(?) God's order. I think it was implied that the God was maybe a women-hater, might have even communicated with the current king. Perhaps our MC was meant to be queen but the God interfered and the king "yielded." I don't know why else her father would say, "I yielded."
