I think he knew it would be a challenge, but more than anything I think Uenoyama wanted to learn about Yuki. Considering the ties that those two both have to music, he probably saw that as the best way. I also think it's how he can get closer to Mafuyu and how he's gotten the stamp of approval from the other two
She's so not wrong about this situation...I mean poor Uenoyama --' I like Yuki a lot but that's a lot to ask from him to finish a song made for Mafuyu...Argh this manga is so great but so painful
