And anyway, Will's dad looks just like Will's old self, and his dad in previous life disappeared. What if the first king's friend was actually Will's previous dad, and somehow got transported to this word, and now his descendant is Will's current dad?

I sometimes suspect his best friend in his previous life has been in that world. The dragon remembering the guy who named him Shiro looks like the best friend and the king also looks like the best friend.
Also, there is a lot of signs that a japanese had a lot of influence in that world, the most obvious is the magic... but also stories...
So I wonder how his best friend also ended in that world long before our hero...
