I found the butler annoying, to be honest. Whenever he forces an idea unto someone, (and I totally get that you want "this" for the young master) however, he's persistently pushing it already.
Although he's annoying, looking at the bright side. He is on the side of the FL and pushes them together. His actions CAN affectively cause their relationship to develop.
Which is a good thing.
