Asada shouldn't have been projecting all of his fantasies about Hotaru onto not only Nimiya but all those girls. The point of fictional characters is that they experience only fragments of the human experience that the author in question is trying to convey. Although they can be written and developed with three-dimensional thinking within their own stories; that's it. They stop there and their thoughts are limited. This leaves the audience with a lot of room to project anything they want onto this fictional character as long as it sort of fits their personality.

Human people are obviously SO much more complex than that, and you can't just assume or fantasize the parts of their personality you don't know about like you do with fictional characters because these people are actually real.

I feel like Asada hasn't really fallen in love with Nimiya, but he's fallen in love with this great Hotaru fantasy that Nimiya seems to represent. Because Nimiya has a very similar personality to Hotaru, Asada never asks Nimiya anything about himself. He just assumes he knows because Nimiya is the exact same as Hotaru in his eyes. Asada should first try and get to know Nimiya better before he tries to do anything...

Sorry for the long ramble,,, just felt like venting lol
