As someone who watches TwoSetViolin and Hilary Hahn on YT (hello to any fellow fans), I was appalled by the violinist's hold on the bow. And then I noticed that the violin has THREE strings, two knobs for tuning, the bow is SEE-THROUGH and missing the horsehair, no f-holes, the head position was wrong, the strings just stopped in midair, and the violin was flat like it was cheaply slapped together. And it's almost like the artist was doing an Indian violin hold but upright. I know, I shouldn't nitpick. It's only one panel. But if you're going to draw something that is the whole reason the characters are there, and if you're going to put the soloist in a scene, the instrument should look more like what it's supposed to be.
And I went to the next page to see a well-drawn violin in a close-up! Wow! Couldn't the artist have spent a minute or two more to make that panel on page 5 look less like a sixty dollar violin off Amazon with a Chinese drama actor "playing" it?
Hate on me all you want. This is just my opinion as a writer and as an artist with a perfectionism problem.
On the other hand, this story is okay and the art is really good (aside from the panel I pointed out). However, like another person said, I'm finding it hard to like the story and its characters. Wendy is a florist and the only time we've seen her using her powers was pretty early on, then nothing afterwards. We don't really have any character depth for her or the ML either, which is disappointing. I'm not asking for angst or drama, just for something that will make me crave the story—like an interesting quirk or a unique plot twist. Wendy, although she's shown some bravery, more often acts like a selfish coward than who she's verbally making herself out to be. The ML is annoyingly plain. If you set aside his "good looks" and his occupation as a noble knight, he doesn't really have any interesting qualities about him. There's a lot of potential for this story, so I hope it gets better as time goes on.
