The art is nice. But the characters are too... 2 dimension? Step mother just isekaied to the world. Rather than establishing on what year it is, investigate her family background, find out how she interacts with her own staffs and her original habits, she just barge into the son's door and coddle him too death. How many years before she is killed? What triggers the murder? Did she find out if the original step mother has started the abuse before she came. Doesn't it look waaay out of character if she just waltz in everyday with love if just yesterday she slaps him around? The child didn't even question this out of norm loving mother. He is supposed to be cunnimg and vile, but he just accepted it without a glimpse of revenge..
We dont get to see the duke and step mother dinamic as well. So she doesn't love him, doesn't want to have anything to do with him, just want his money. So why did he marry her in the first place? He already has an heir from previous marriage. Now he is interested at her change of character, but i dont see the cheristry just yet. Does he like her smile solely? Or because she care of his son? But he doesn't even care much about his son.. I dont get it..
In any case, i look forward to the supposed ML of the story she read. That will be the crown prince..so how does the step mother's role will come into play in his son and crown prince rivalry if she is not killed this time i wonder. Still a four star for me. Unless proven otherwise in the future. (⌒▽⌒)
