I want to like Ruve, I really do, especially since the story seems to leading towards Tia ...

I want to like Ruve, I really do, especially since the story seems to leading towards Tia ending up with him (I don't actually know how it ends whatsoever, that's just the vibe I'm getting). But I just can't get over what happened in the other timeline. Even if he's different now, a version of himself still did those terrible things to her! Can anyone help me justify this in my brain?!
