This was before humans had access to safety and help. Commoners are under nobles so they have to do whatever they want, and doing heartless things can keep you alive and fed. ｡:ﾟ(;´∩`;)ﾟ:｡
I was speaking in general, not only about the maid in this novel nor our poor girl "supposed" biological family.. Humans in entirety.
Oh, then there cunning, despicable things that try to take advantage of whatever they can to rise up in society. They're heartless things that, just to live in luxury is destroying the planet. Oh and don't forget the politicians who support such acts. Humans are things that depend on cash and do whatever they can, good or not to look good to other people. But don't forget that not all humans are bad. Some humans are trying their best to just survive. Humans can be compassionate trustworthy and loyal. They can be fair, they can be giving, they, can help you when you need it. Humans, are humans. Good and bad, no matter the race gender or color humans are humans. ｡◕‿◕｡
