I’m reading the novel and Man....the scene after the dance, the poor MC is actually hung strappado style (with his arms behind his back, which is WAY MORE PAINFUL) and after he is whipped the emperor rapes him...like, bb DF?!
I’ll keep reading this manga but so far they have definitely made the emperor seem way less crazy.
