Ed didn't expect to receive such a humongous amount of money - this mean he was able to finally pay off his debt to Change in full, he was able to return the original 50K to Glenn, he was able to donate the remaining sum to charity.
In the end Ed felt tremendous relief - all his life up to now he lived under strict limitations due to his poor financial situation, however now, all of a sudden, that immense pressure of debt has been lifted.
