ummmm...so which part of this was shoujo romance?

I know, right? With all of the love between Azian and Maria, it technically should've been labeled either yaoi or shounen-ai since they are both guys :/

When a manga is given the genre "Shoujo" it mostly refers to the art style. Shoujo manga are written with art and story lines targeted towaards girls. When it's opposite Shounen it to boys. The Romance genre does refer to the relationship between Maria and Azian. Just because a manga is labeled "Shoujo and Romance" it doesn't mean it will be a hetero relationship.
