This is not just about « giving up ». Imagine saying this to someone with deep confidence issues or depression, that would be reeeaaally ignorant and harmful.
In this case, we don’t know the full situation yet but, as I suggested above, someone with self confidence issues can’t just motivate themselves into not giving up. Because before that, you have to believe that you can achieve your goal even a tiny bit. It’s a vicious / virtuous circle (depends on the perspective)
I think it's bc he gave up too fast in pursuing his dreams, we all know broadway is a very hard thing to achieve, based on the backstory he was even doing successful in dancing, acting etc. I mean for all that practice...YOU CAN'T JUST GIVE UP!!! I MEAN IT'S BROAD-FRICKIN-WAY...I rlly hope he gets back on track and achieves his dream, I also like broadway
