I suggest you to read the novel, the plot will get clearer and there are a lot of scenes that are skipped here so it’d be better if you read the novel first.

To avoid repetitive chapter, you could read from chap 0 to 9, skip chap 10 to 14 and start reading at chap 15. (I hope it's clear)
Otherwise, it's pretty confusing.
