Can we talk about what a class act McQueen was in this chapter? He put his full ego down when he admitted to Ed he selfishly was sure Ed would be thinking of him and thought objectively about his own behavior and emotions and looked at his own part in things and personal flaws. He also allowed Ed to give his point of view without interrupting, and let Ed go when he asked for space. He also asked for permission for their kiss. This is upstanding behaviour relationship wise and communication wise. I also realized I could learn something from this in the way I think about others and interact with others. I also realize that a lot of stories on here are skewed in non-positive relationships and communication throughout series with no emotional growth. I want to take the time to note that as someone who reads a lot of yaoi I should not be desensitized and accept characters like that but look for positive growth stories. I should also not be lenient on characters who remain toxic because I emotionally invest in the story.
I wish Ed spoke more but it's clear he still needs time and space to heal and reflect and look into his faults or behavior objectively and grow. We are all flawed and that's part of being human. How we grow as humans and reflect and try to be better everyday is significant.
