a critical review lol

Usually these types of stories have some sort of lasting impact on me. Killing Stalking literally stayed in my mind for days. The plot of KS was executed extremely well and had such an airtight and neat plot that there weren’t many unanswered questions or plotholes at all. In my opinion, Obey Me was sort of the opposite. Sure, they’re similar in genre, but Obey Me’s story was kind of all over the place and the ending was unsatisfying. There were some weird choices made by the author, the most glaring one to me being Hayan’s...existence? Like, she had literally nothing to do with any other character and it was never explained why she was there in the first place. The whole sushi bar scene seemed kind of out of place to me, too. I also personally dislike the use of any form of amnesia in stories, but this time around it wasn’t that bad. I’m not saying this is a bad story (it definitely isn’t, and I’ve read MUCH worse) but there’s just so much to be desired. This could have been a great story.

Hayan's existence is explained somewhere in the earlier chapters. She told Jinyoo that she was kidnapped as some kind of practice for when they would kidnap Jinyoo. Given that this explanation felt a little out of place.
