How can you be sexually attracted to a kid?

* I am absolutely disgusted by the some answers I saw. I’m blocking, I do not want or need to talk with people who enjoy reading about kids being molested. Your essays are not needed. I do not want to talk with you. Fuck off with the condescending tone.

It's not a matter of attraction. It's a matter of wanting to dominate someone completely and to corrupt the innocent due to some past trauma or some mental imbalance. It's a matter of someone needing help and never getting it so they let their unhealthy emotions out on those around them in a toxic way.

In this case, the dude is simply attracted to a kiddo.

It's not "simply". You're oversimplifying it. There are over a 100 pages to intricately illustrate how the college student is drawn to the kid, and you boil it down to simply that. If it's just sexual attraction, it could have been over in 20 pages. And there are a lot of works just like that. Shota. And "worse" than this one as well, with full-on depictions of rape and the partner are usually old men. But people are being heated over this one work in particular.

Yh I didn’t actually read everything. I’m not into kids being raped. And people are allowed to be heated about this work.

I'm not saying people are not allowed to.

Fine if you stopped reading when you didn't like it. Nobody forced you to. Glad you know your boundaries.

"Kids being raped" I'd point out your way of saying this but I sure hope you realize kids in fiction ≠ kids irl.

If anything, the people who can't distinguish fiction from reality should be the ones getting therapy.

Fiction is an extension of reality. It's kinda a shame that people put so little faith in the power of fiction... When you enjoy something like this, you are enjoying the idea of a powerless person being abused by a person in a position of power. Why wouldn't I be concerned that some is getting their rocks off to that? If you're getting your rocks off to the idea of a small child getting raped then why is so much of a stretch to think that a person might find the real life equivalent hot? There's a difference between not being able to distinguish between reality and fiction and realizing that fiction is very telling of the world that someone sees. Its honestly kinda stupid to think that the fiction a person enjoys is completely separate from the person themself. Like, I'm sure you've cried or gotten angry or felt literally anything from a piece of media before and acting like you have never been is exactly what I'd expect from some kid who hasn't even made it through high school. Which I'm assuming you are. You have plenty of time to grow up and hopefully take some intro level english classes once you get to college but for now, don't act like you understand fiction better than a published author. Because you don't know jack shit yet

Just because you like a taboo/bad thing in fiction doesn't necessarily mean you will act on it in real life.

Imagine the chaos this world will become if /everyone/ who liked bad fiction actually acts on their desires. There are cases like this, but do you know these are actually small numbers compared to the harmless people who simply enjoy fictional content?

I never said anything about fiction not affecting reality. Yes it most definitely does. I know what it feels like to be moved by stories. And I very much like this story, hence why I am so adamant about defending it and the author who simply expressed what they like.
Fiction DOES affect reality. But you know what? It's not 1:1. Realizing that is what it means to be able to separate fiction from reality. If you have a clear mind and are in-touch with reality, you know fiction is NOT reality. You're not hurting anyone by reading shotacon or bad media. Drawing lines on paper does not hurt a child in real life.

"fiction is telling of the world a person sees" and see, this is why people have boundaries. Common sense to separate fiction and reality. We know what stays in fiction. And what morals to hold in real life.

We all have interests and preferences.
Who are you to tell people not to like things? Because you're scared of people might act on that in real life? I'd say it's a shame how little faith you have in people. People have the minds to think critically. We know this is taboo and we should only enjoy it in fiction. We should know not to hurt people. Unless you think everyone who likes bad fiction are mindless idiots who are like kids who see things in media and immediately go "oh! this could work in real life too!".

Countless factors come in when you consider someone's actions/behavior. Just because x doesn't mean y. It doesn't equate to that. Bad fiction in and of itself isn't bad.

I suggest you read up on psychology a bit more if you can't understand that much about human behaviors.

You mentioned something about English and yes I plan to improve on my use of the language, and make much more readable paragraphs than yours which is a clusterfuck and not very presentable block of text.

Maybe you should read up on psychology because your understanding of the subject is childish at best. I suggest investing in taking intro to psych courses once you reach college. I don't feel like going through your borderline unintelligible ramblings to rebuke your claims so I'm just going to tell you that the problem isn't that this makes someone a pedo but that it provides a piece of media for pedos to relate to. When you relate to something in a reaffirming way, you are less likely to see a problem with it. People are less likely to get help and more "MAP"s feel justified in feeling proud of their identity. Honestly, I'm starting to feel a little bad for arguing with you because the longer I do so, the more I realize you are just a kid. I'm not gonna respond from here on out because I don't feel like arguing with some barely pubescent kid.
