I feel bad that the other readers think Renjaku is a full-blown crappy character when what he really used in the original was "mesu"/female, and not bitch. Although it's not exactly wrong since "mesuinu" means "female dog=bitch". If he really did mean to call Hana the rude kind of "bitch", he would have used "kuso-onna" (shitty woman), which he didn't.

I can understand the confusion though, since English is iust my second language, I didn't even know until high school that bitch could also mean female dog hahaha.

Mesu (雌) is a derogatory term for female so the translator was not entirely wrong?

It means feminine or female. Same kanji for mesunokitsune / female fox, meushi / cow or meshibe / female part of plant. I havent encountered it being used in a derogatory manner before (or maybe i just have never had that kind of conversation idk). Translator wasn't wrong tho, I iust dont think it was meant in a derogatory manner.

Make sense in Japanese in a way but completely throws people off in English

It's literally the same thing, he's calling him an animal, which is pretty shitty behavior regardless. There's a reason why many women find it offensive to be referred to as "females".

Hi, I'm the translator. Renjaku certainly does say “mesu” in Japanese, which means female, but it’s a version of the word female that is usually used for animals. It's not a word that you would normally see used with people and is very degrading. You wouldn't just call a person in real life a word usually used for animals. Hence I thought “Bitch” would best convey that. Even if I did use the word "female" it's still degrading either way because it shows that Hana is only thought of as a tool for sex, being called a female, even though he is not.
I wasn't trying to change his character, or make him sound meaner. This is just a part of Renjaku’s character. It's how he is.

Also, it may not seem like it right now, but Renjaku is slowly changing. In the future chapters, you'll see that he's not all mean and angry.

Ohhhh i see now why people were saying it was offensive. I never thought being called "female" was degrading before but now that you put it that way, it does seem a bit odd to use it for a person. I often read omegaverses where the bottom is called "female" so i dont know if i was just desensitized to the term. Apologies for having offended you in any way. In my mind, I guess I was trying to redeem his character a bit. Thanks for translating~ :D
