Why did Khaol curse the family

Cuz River's ancestor caught Khaol doing IT with his lover(Kaveri or something I don't remember) then he was sentenced to death for doing something he shouldn't(Cuz Kaveri was something something or a concubine or whatever I forgot). Hence he holds onto this grudge until now

So Khaol never even thought about locking the door or telling the servants not to come to his room? -MEGA FACEPALM-

Rivers ancestors already know they were lovers, because he saw them sleeping (not having sex) together when he brought tea.

But I think he was still shocked to find them while doing it and let out a scream. This caused that the guards rushed over to see what happened and yeah.

So basically rivers ancestors didn’t do anything wrong. Just Khaol being a jerk and blaming others for his misery
