Queen planned all of this to get rid of Charti. The investigation will lead the Prince to find out about his mother's deeds. Somehow he will discover that this isn't the first time she made an "accident" happen. She already did it to the other Prince before.
HOWEVER. The good part is that Irene is somehow involved in the planning. This will allow the Prince leverage over her.
