Someone wrote in the comments that the author liked Jeannette and wanted a better storyline for her. I'm not sure how true it is but she seems to be getting a more favourable character here than the one in the novel. Maybe the author wants both Jeanette and Athanasia to have happy endings ╮(￣▽￣)╭
