Haha, that's rough, I bet a quite a few people got in awkward positions cause of that show, it was just advertised as sports and had such good artwork. I had been mentioning some anime to my mom at the time and trying to change her connotation from pokemon and hentai to something more decent, like haikyuu and hero academy, but I was not prepped for that at all. I think I went straight into the deep end, my first yaoi, honestly I don’t even think it qualifies was killing stalking. I’ve read manga since I was like 9, maybe 8, but it was always shoujo or something. I stopped for a really long time, then quarantine started and I downloaded tiktok, from there I discovered killing stalking. I kept on getting suggestions from there and now I genuinely love the genre.
I think I even have a habit of underestimating the talent of some of these artists, because there are truly some well written masterpieces I've found. My really close friends are aware of the fact I read it, but I can’t sit down and talk about it to them, they just accept it as a strange hobby of mine and say nothing

This is one of the first yaoi mangas I read. I was stuck at shounen ai and had no idea that yaoi and shounen ai are two different genres. Honestly it was hard for me to start reading yaoi cuz I thought it was too graphic and couldn't get through it. But now I've been reading for a couple of years and have no problem with really heavy yaoi. This is one of the mangas I read to transition from shounen ai to yaoi. Don't know why but it did help to go from fluffy shounen ai where they only kiss like twice to heavy, smutty sometimes weird yaoi. So, in conclusion... this comment is completely pointless but like, I kinda wanna hear how other people get into this kind of stuff?
