I think the part that broke was the loop that goes around the ankle so thats why he replaced it with the handkerchief! Though tbh with most heels that loop is generally for looks and the heel should fit anyways but oh well

Ahhh I guess he might have done it to keep it in place so she doesn't just have a dangling strap on her shoe
