If I'm correct, her sister actually isn't evil. Rather, she's so naive and innocent, to the point it comes across as evil. She's trying hard to maintain a relationship with Violette, but doesn't realise the damage she's causing her in the process. Violette doesn't want to associate herself with her sister, but it's difficult if her sister's the one approaching. Violette doesn't have anyone to support her other than Yulan, so if she pushes her sister away, everyone will see it as her rejecting her sister.

The LN still isn't completed so I can't say much yet, however Violette realises she has feelings for Yulan. Hopefully this ship sails smoothly, and the author doesn't pull a fast one on us.
