When he came back in victory, she began weighing the pros and cons again to see which side will benefit her and will retain her status and wealth so she could be looked up to and envied by everyone. Though I feel bad for her, she really did cause this state of hers by herself. I just hope she redeems.
I think it's cause I have read so many transmigration into becoming a villainess that I feel really bad for Claire. She didn't actually have a relationship with Rowan but she was the most suitable candidate to be his wife. On top of all that she grew up expecting to marry into the household so that's all she knew and dreamed of.
