They are a lady. If I remember correctly, they experienced the same thing as our MC? She ran away from her family and hid her identity as a woman and became a merchant. She's very handsome too, you can't tell they're a woman until they themselves reveal it. She helps our MC to out the scammer merchant as a, well, a scammer.
