I don't know all her backstory, and there may be explanations, but the fact is, that in real life, abusers alternate abuse with good treatment. It's often how women stay trapped: "When he's not hitting me, he is sweet and gives me flowers and etc. He just gets mad someetimes."
And controlling abusers use that alternating thing to control. And of course blame the victim: "If you didn't make me angry, I wouldn't have hit you."
Clearly the family has not treated her ideally. I guess we'll find out why they are shitty.
To be honest in her real life I feel like she was also in the wrong. The way she handled the situations wasn’t the best To me it seemed like her family at times wanted to help but she wanted nothing to do with them. I’m not saying they were nice all the time but I believe that it’s give and take.
