Personally, I don’t think making porn is bad, but McQueen is talking about how he was ashamed of what he did bc he glorified it to make it seem like art. That mindset was very toxic for the movie he made about the gay rapist he talked about a few chapters ago where he glorified rape to make it seem like art or whatever. Basically, he hired the bottom, the blonde haired guy, to be the victim for the sex scene but did not tell the bottom that the scene was for a movie where is would be portrayed as rape. I guess the bottoms was not happy w that and it was a shitty move not informing the bottoms the context for the scene.
Other than that specific incident I’m not exactly sure why McQueen is so ashamed of making porn. As long as the actors are getting good pay, is consenting to the footage, and is sanitary, I don’t get why McQueen is upset either.
Dude I feel the same. Like he never ever forced uke to do porn. Uke himself was a participant in their porn transference. And I think the fight they had when the world discovered their identity was more for their men's pride than anything else. It's Mcqueen's profession and he was never ashamed of it. Even if it was a way for him to escape the reality making porn gave him the freedom. So why now that he feels that he should be ashamed of something that he's been for years just because he released a porn of his lover?
I've been wondering about this too! Like, uke volunteered himself in the first place, so why is it that Mcqueen is at fault? I can't seem to find the answer of that

I dunno but I think it's perhaps the past of the uke. After analysing it I realised that the uke has a lot of trust issues. Chang was an asshole who tried to keep Ed to himself by mentally harassing him so Mcqueen is the only person for uke who he holds dear to. So when their porn became a huge success Ed felt as though his privacy has been infiltrated and ended up blaming Glen for this. Glen too having already experienced a depressing past thought that maybe it really was his fault which really wasn't the case. They're so into each other that a single step can make both of them feel betrayed or threatened.
