People are saying that the prince is different in this timeline but the only reason he isn’t abusing her is because she just fucking smiled and stopped making her cold face. If she kept her cold face his inferiority complex would grow, with him thinking she looks down on him, and hence abusing her. He’s just not doing it because he’s intrigued by her actions and her being so scared of him. even at the end of the novel he says he doesn’t love her.
