Ginger wants to break the engagement, while Izana wants to avoid the nobles who are trying to marry off their daughter to be the empress. Ginger never hides her interest tho, since Izana can read her mind. But he's all like yea you're adorable, i like you but not like that. It's really cute bc Ginger is blunt af. It's not translated yet but I read somewhere that Hamel Bray will develop interest in Ginger, and Izana found out (i assume he read Hamel's mind) and that's how Izana started to get uneasy.
If i understood right from the raws they act like she spent a night with the Ml and they have a secret affair. I don't think they get engaged
