mc is just annoyed with everything and ends up taking it out on the brother but he didnt go to the brother as a replacement
he's not thinking of the brother as a replacement, it's more him taking his anger at the ex out on the brother.... he actually even says that himself in chapter 3 while in chapter 4 he is just taking note of the similarities they have physically, but that's not why he did what he did
