Well, i think that if she really wanted to she would have reached out to him, especially knowing how strict and cold his father is, even if she didnt want to take full custody of him. BUT, at the same time, his father is pretty important and yeah. The father had a lot of power there. Maybe she just left quietly because that was the only way to get away from him for good.
Like, if somebody doesnt get full custody of the child, more that he is someone big, a lot of bad news is going to appear.
Just an opinion tho
Rereading this, i think that she mostly waited for him to make the right move? but she just looked more focus on her phone and was so excited to get away that makes me think she just decided that he was not going to be a part of her life ever again.
Writing my thoughts right now is kind of hard :)))

Omg, yes. I felt really shitty, I MEAN, AT LEAST I WANT TO SEE A HUG. Well, i guess thats the difference between a parent who keeps suffering decades after their child dead, and some that can abuse them without a trace of remorse.
Yes, she didnt abuse him like his father, but that doesnt make her innocent. JUST BE HAPPY TO SEE HIM, DONT GET EXCITED ONLY WHEN YOUR BF CALLS YOU.
I dont think she was forced into that marriage, she just got her expectations betrayed... So i dont see a reason for her not to love her child even if she hated the father with all her heart. And he looks a lot like her too, sooooo he isnt a little copy of that cold man. Like, why do you ignore your own son.
WHAT IS YOUR PROBLEM, WOMAN
I don’t really get the last few pages, and what I mean is that she abandoned him to save only herself and left him in an unloving, cold, and suffocating environment all by himself. He’s had to deal with the mental effects it had on him by himself too. Could she not have taken him with her? And to rub salt on the wound she says “it’s been 3 years, huh”... um no lady, you left him when he was so young. So for hozumi to say they are just the same- I don’t get that.
